MOLD AS MEDIUM: LIVING SCULPTURE

A short conceptual art experiment turned year long project exploring the potential of mold as medium and subject for photography and sculpture.

By placing petri dishes in the negative tray of an enlarger, I made photographs in the dark room 

A blown glass drop and a cube were sculptural homes to cultures of mold as they grew and died. The geometries of the homes contrast the fluid form of the mold and created an evolving, living sculpture.
